The SGR Was My Idea , Supposed to Cost Ksh 55 Billion but It Costed Over Ksh 300 Billion, Jimmy Wanjigi.

Kenyan businessman and political strategist Jimmy Wanjigi has revealed that he is the one who came up with the idea of SGR in 2008. In an interview with Linus KaiKai in Citizen TV Live, Wanjigi said that the whole project was a private project before the government took it and made it expensive.

Additionally, Jimmy said the government decided to take public money and misused it, yet, he intended to use his money. According to Wanjigi, that’s where his differences with Uhuru (the government emerged). Wanjigi aspires to secure the ODM nomination and try to vie for the presidency in Kenya.

Upon being asked about the Anglo leasing scandal, Jimmy said that every business he does is legit and that is the reason he does not have a case in court. Those who had scandals have cases in the court. Moreover, he noted that he never does business with the government. He also noted that his first business was garbage collection. He was the one who introduced garbage collection in Kenya.

Jimmy said he was also involved in the construction of the Thika Supper highway as an agent of a company. Also, he said he helped raise funds to construct the highway. According to Wanjigi, What Kenya needs is the upgrade or roads; it’ll be a game-changer. The businessman also said that Uhuru approached him and told him to take any business he wanted but he declined.
